Chloe Katherine Widner was born on December 29, 2000 in Grapevine, Texas to Joe and Kate Widner. She has an older brother, Ross and a younger sister, Emily and two miniature schnauzers named Louie the Great and Lacey Belle. Chloe is a senior at Spring Creek Academy and she will graduate from high school in 2019. During Chloe's spare time, she enjoys browsing Pinterest, crafting, reading, hanging out with her friends and traveling with family.
Chloe began gymnastics at a summer camp when she was four years old. Her mom knew it was a good move after the first day, when she discovered dirty heel marks on the wall where Chloe was practicing her handstand. By the time she was in Kindergarten, she was training nine hours a week and competing level 3. At the beginning of Chloe's gymnastics career, she trained at Eagle Gymnastics Academy in Frisco, TX. In the summer of 2012, Chloe started training at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell, TX.
In 2013 as a level 8 gymnast, Chloe finished first in the all-around with a 38.625 and third on vault at the State Championships. Chloe grabbed silver medals on vault and in the all-around with a 38.400 at the Region 3 Championships. Chloe moved up to level 9 for the 2014 season. At the State Championships, Chloe placed third in the all-around with a 37.325, third on uneven bars and fourth on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.625, fifth on uneven bars and second on balance beam. Chloe qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID where she placed 11th in the all-around and fifth on uneven bars.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Chloe finished fourth in the all-around with a 38.075 and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.950, fourth on vault and fifth on balance beam. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Des Moines, IA where she placed in the top 25 in the all-around. Chloe had a great season in 2016 where she secured a spot to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup after winning the all-around title with a 38.050 at the Texas Prime Meet. In March, she traveled to Newark, NJ for the Nastia Liukin meet, finishing ninth in the all-around and third on balance beam in the senior division. A few weeks later, Chloe grabbed gold medals on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.500 at the State Championships. She also earned silver medals on vault and uneven bars. At the Region 3 Championships, Chloe finished first in the all-around with a 38.275, first on vault and uneven bars and third on balance beam. Chloe qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 38.125, third on floor exercise, fifth on balance beam and eighth on vault. Chloe made the Junior Olympic National Team.
In 2017, Chloe grabbed gold medals on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.825 at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed first in the all-around with a 38.375 and first on uneven bars and balance beam. Chloe qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she finished second in the all-around with a 38.425, first on floor exercise, second on vault and fourth on uneven bars and balance beam out of 57 gymnasts. Chloe made the Junior Olympic National Team for the second time.
Chloe had another great season in 2018! She qualified to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup again where she scored a 37.900 and placed first on floor exercise and fifth on vault in the senior division. At the State Championships, she grabbed gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 39.025. Chloe earned gold medals on vault, balance beam and in the all-around with a 38.275 at the Region 3 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH, finishing sixth in the all-around with a 38.200 and third on vault.
Chloe trains 30 hours per week at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell, TX under coaches Kim Zmeskal-Burdette and Chris Burdette. Chloe verbally committed to Stanford University for the 2019-2020 school year.
