Savannah Faith Schoenherr was born on September 2, 2000 in Shakopee, Minnesota to Jerry and Tracie Schoenherr. She has one brother, Blake and two dogs, Cane (German Shepherd), and Bonnie (Golden Retriever). During her spare time, she likes to watch her brother race motocross, hang out with friends, and go shopping.

Savannah was an extremely active child and loved to climb on everything, so her parents enrolled her in a recreation gymnastics class to help her burn off her extra energy when she was four years old. Savannah fell in love with the sport of gymnastics from day one.

At the beginning of Savannah’s competitive gymnastics career, she trained at Auburn Gymnastics Academy in Auburn, AL under Joshlyn Bush Bess. As a level 4 gymnast in the fall of 2007, she finished 2nd in the all-around, 1st on vault and bars, and 2nd on floor at the State Championships. She quickly moved to level 5 in the spring of 2008 where she swept all 1st place finishes at the Winter Blast.


In 2008, Savannah’s family moved to McDonough, GA. Under coaches, Beth Hair and Jeff Lewis, Savannah advanced quickly and began the 2009 season as a level 8 gymnast. She won 1st on floor, placed 4th on vault, 5th on beam, and 5th in the all-around at Level 8 State Championships. Savannah went on to compete in the Level 8 Regional Championships as the youngest competitor at the age of 8 finishing 11th all-around. As a level 9 gymnast in 2010, she took 1st on bars at the Tiger Paw Classic.

In 2011, Savannah started her level 10 season at only 10 years old. At the Atlanta Crown Invitational, she won 1st on beam and placed 4th on vault and bars. Unfortunately, she was unable to finish the season due to having surgery on her ankle. In 2012, she took 2nd on bars at the Ozone Invitational. Savannah participated in the Gliders Invitational Hopes Qualifier where she won 1st on floor and finished 4th on vault. At the WOGA Classic Hopes Qualifier, she earned the Hopes compulsory score winning floor and taking 2nd on vault and bars. She placed 2nd on bars and 3rd on vault and floor in the Hopes optional competition at the WOGA Classic.


In 2012, Savannah moved to Hill’s Gymnastics in Maryland to train under Kelli Hill. She started the 2013 season at the Atlantis Invitational in the Bahamas taking 1st place for all-around, bars and beam, and earning 3rd on vault and floor. Savannah placed 3rd on beam at State Championships. At 2013 Regionals, she placed 2nd on bars and 6th in the all-around, qualifying her to JO Nationals. At JO Nationals, Savannah finished 5th on floor and 12th in the all-around, helping Region 7 team to win the Junior A team first place title. Savannah missed the 2014 season due to injury.

In 2015, Savannah moved back to Georgia with her family. Savannah finished 2nd in the all-around, 1st on bars and 3rd on beam at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to JO Nationals where she won 1st place on bars, 2nd on beam, 9th on vault, and 6th all around. Savannah was unable to compete in the 2016 season due to a back injury.
