Riley started taking gymnastics classes at the age of five so she could learn basic gymnastics skills to compliment her dancing. She fell in love with the sport and quickly progressed in the sport. She started her gymnastics career at Capital Gymnastics in Austin, TX. Riley was the 2013 Level 4 State All-Around and Balance Beam Champion. She was also named to America's Top 100 on uneven bars in level 4. She skipped level 5 and level 6 and moved up to level 7 for the 2015 season. At the Level 7 State Championships, Riley placed sixth on vault with a 9.675 and scored a 38.025 in the all-around. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships, finishing third in the all-around with a 37.850, second on vault and fourth on uneven bars.
As a level 8 gymnast in 2016, Riley finished fifth in the all-around with a 38.000 and first on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. She placed in the top ten in the all-around with a 37.650 and third on uneven bars and balance beam at the Region 3 Championships. Riley was in America's Top 100 for uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. She had a perfect 10.0 score on bars, so she was ranked first on that event. Riley moved up to level 9 for the 2017 season. She placed third in the all-around with a 37.600 and third on uneven bars and floor exercise. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished eighth in the all-around, fifth on balance beam and sixth on floor exercise. Riley qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID where she placed fourth on balance beam and tenth on uneven bars. Riley was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise with a 9.700.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2018, Riley won the balance beam title with a 9.650 at the Region 3 Championships. In May of 2018, Riley moved to Austin Elite Gymnastics Training Center in Lakeway, TX. At the 2019 State Championships, Riley finished second in the all-around and third on balance beam, qualifying to Regionals.
