Mia started taking gymnastics classes at the age of five so she could have a fun place to socialize with other kids. She fell in love with the sport and quickly progressed at a local gym in Austin, TX. She trained at Olympia Hills Gymnastics in Buda, TX for five years. Mia placed fourth in the all-around with a 38.050, second on uneven bars and third on vault at the 2015 Level 6 State Championships.
In 2016 as a level 7 gymnast, Mia finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.550, first on floor exercise and second on uneven bars at the State Championships and fifth in the all-around with a 38.075 and third on floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. At the 2017 Level 8 State Championships, Mia finished sixth on floor exercise. Mia competed level 9 in 2018 but was unable to compete most of the season due to an injury. In the summer of 2018, Mia moved to Austin Elite Gymnastics Club in Lakeway, TX.
Mia trains over 20 hours per week at Austin Elite Gymnastics Training Center in Lakeway, TX under coach Mike Hillin. She is working hard to qualify to the 2019 Level 9 Western Nationals in Spokane, WA. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college gymnastics scholarship.
