Lauren has always loved adventure - from zip lining to mastering the rock wall- she has no fear! Lauren first participated in recreational gymnastics classes at National Elite in Austin, TX and shortly thereafter, switched to Flipnastics Gym in Lakeway, TX. A natural, Lauren quickly advanced from Flipnastics’ pre team to the competition team. Lauren started competing at level 4 in third grade and quickly progressed, skipping level 6.
As a level 7 gymnast, Lauren qualified for Team Texas and represented Texas at the National Judges Cup in Montgomery, Alabama in January 2015. In her first year as a level 9 gymnast, Lauren placed fifth all-around at the State Championships and qualified for the Region 3 Championships in Denver, Colorado. Lauren placed third on vault at the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID in April 2017. Lauren was unable to compete in 2018 due to an injury. In May of 2018, she moved to Austin Elite Gymnastics Training Center in Lakeway, TX.
Lauren’s success in gymnastics is rivaled by her success in the classroom. Lauren has successfully balanced 20 plus hours training during the school year with a full-time school schedule with Pre-Advanced Placement classes. Lauren maintains a 97 average and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Lauren has been recognized by the Duke University Talent Identification Program 7th Grade Talent Search (“Duke TIP”) and was invited to take the ACT as a 7th grader. She did and was further recognized by Duke TIP for her distinguished ACT score in science.
Lauren trains between 20-30 hours per week. Lauren’s goal is to obtain a gymnastics scholarship to a Division I program with a strong academic curriculum.
